New Turkish Consulate General in Strasbourg
Designed by Han Tümertekin – Mimarlar, the project is a perfect mix of Turkish and Alsatian references. The interior of the structure is decorated with a ceramic coming directly from Turkey, the turquoise of the Iznik region. The exterior is designed in pink sandstone of the Vosges in tribute to the regional culture. And for the first time, this stone is used in facing very large dimensions. LAFACADE has been involved in the design and production of more than 400 luminaires for facade lighting. The product designed is LeTube SERIES. LAFACADE also realized the lighting of the consulate steps with its FLEX SERIES product.
Luminaires are controlled pixel by pixel, which allows for dynamic lighting, which also allows scenarios and content to be displayed. The small footprint of the luminaires allowed a very discreet and perfect architectural integration, which does not distort the beautiful building. The custom design allowed to select 5 different types of photometry lenses, different color and orientation to better illuminate turquoise IZNIK faience.
